FMI Announces Sale of Ideal Fencing to GeoStabilization International

FMI is proud to announce the sale of Ideal Fencing Corp. (Ideal), a portfolio company of Building Industry Partners (BIP), to GeoStabilization International, a subsidiary of Soil Nail Holdings (SNH) and an affiliate of private equity firm, KKR. FMI Capital Advisors served as the exclusive financial advisor to Ideal for this transaction.

Founded in 1982 and based in Erie, Colorado, Ideal has grown to become the largest highway and bridge guardrail fabricator and installer in Colorado. Ideal also fabricates and installs commercial chain-link and iron fencing, serving Colorado’s Front Range and beyond. Ideal has a long history of completing projects where guardrail, fencing, access control, design, value- engineering and in-house fabrication capabilities are all required to deliver quality solutions safely and on schedule. This has made Ideal a preferred partner to a long-standing customer base of highway/transit authorities, state and local government agencies, infrastructure contractors and commercial/industrial contractors and developers.

“We’re very proud of the business we’ve built at Ideal Fencing over many decades, and we’re excited for the next chapter in partnership with SNH,” said Matt Bockelmann, president of Ideal. “Our team of over 50 employees is more committed than ever to serving our customers across Colorado for decades to come. We’d like to thank BIP and its principals for the successful partnership with Ideal since 2017.”

“Jason Munoz and the team at FMI Capital Advisors ran an efficient and effective process, and their sector expertise brought key insights and contacts that ultimately identified the best buyer for Ideal,” said Zach Coopersmith, managing partner at BIP. “We’re proud of the partnership we’ve had with Ideal over the last few years and look forward to seeing the company’s continued success with SNH.”
