Dave Harrell Among 2018 Triangle Business Journal C-Suite Awards Winners

RALEIGH, N.C. – August 29, 2018. The Triangle Business Journal recognized Dave Harrell, chief marketing officer of FMI Corporation, as a 2018 C-Suite Award winner.

These awards honor outstanding C-level executives for their contributions to the Triangle community. The 2018 class includes individuals from a variety of industries, including technology, health care, finance and engineering. They also hold titles such as chief operating officer, chief financial officer and chief marketing officer. Harrell was the only chief marketing officer to earn the distinction.

Harrell joined FMI as chief marketing officer in August 2015. In over 20 years as a marketing leader, he has managed major initiatives as an agency principal, consultant and client-side decision-maker. With experience in both digital and traditional marketing, strategic planning and operations, and B2B and B2C marketing, Dave focuses on all aspects of FMI marketing from brand management to lead generation to content marketing.

Harrell led the transformation of FMI’s digital presence, growing the company’s website views from just over 410,000 to over 1,000,000 page views in less than one year and transitioning from traditional to contemporary marketing tactics. In recent years, Harrell has grown the membership and capabilities of the marketing team at FMI. His focus on developing leaders on the team has proven to be an effective strategy for a highly engaged, collaborative team that produces quality results.

The award applauded Harrell’s numerous contributions to FMI as well as to his local community. He supports his wife, Laurie Harrell, who runs Wee Care, a local nonprofit in Raleigh that provides a positive, loving and enriched preschool environment, free of charge, for children who are economically at risk.

This year’s winners were recognized at an awards luncheon on Aug. 24 at The Umstead Hotel and Spa in Cary. TBJ also profiled the winners in a special issue that was published in its August subscriber edition.

“This year’s class of C-suite winners is impressive,” says Jason Christie, publisher of TBJ. “They represent the best of the best in corporate leadership in The Triangle. We’re proud of what they’ve accomplished, and they have set the bar for others to follow.”
