Ron Magnus Elected to National Academy of Construction

FMI Corporation, a leading consulting and investment banking firm serving the built environment, today announced that Ron Magnus has been elected to the National Academy of Construction (NAC). Magnus, who is a consulting partner with FMI, was recognized with the 33 additional inductees during NAC’s Hall of Fame Gala on October 6. More than 100 candidates were carefully considered during NAC’s rigorous nomination and election process.

Officially established in 1999, the NAC was formed to recognize and honor individuals who have made significant contributions to the construction industry. As part of NAC, members are also able to volunteer their expertise to organizations that are committed to the industry and its future.

In electing Magnus, NAC cited him as an “influential and innovative leader whose understanding of leadership skills and leadership development have changed lives and transformed organizations.”

“Our 2022 class represents dedication to the industry and significant contributions to improving the built environment,” said Wayne Crew, president and CEO of the NAC. “Ron Magnus is an industry icon in leadership. We welcome him.”

Magnus is the founder of what today is FMI's Leadership and Organizational Development practice, which specializes in coaching executives and their teams to develop strategic thinking and leadership skills. Additionally, Magnus created FMI’s Leadership Institute, which is the construction industry's premier leadership development program focused on individual and team development and corporate leadership. The Leadership Institute has more than 10,000 alumni in positions of influence across 1,000-plus organizations.

“It is fair to say that no individual has influenced more CEOs and industry executives across the built environment in the areas of leadership and leader development over the last 30 years than Ron Magnus,” said Chris Daum, CEO of FMI. “His contributions today extend to the second and third generation of some of the industry’s largest and most influential firms. On behalf of all FMI associates past and present, we are thrilled to congratulate Ron on receiving this honor by the NAC.”

Other key accomplishments include being nominated and further accepted as a Wharton School MBA fellow participant and being awarded as a top global consultant for influence by Consulting Magazine in 2018. Magnus is a key advisor and serves on various boards including Kentegra Biotech, Inc., Verdant Ventures, ReVamp, Crystal Clear Management, ELCCO, Inc., The Navigators, Agora Enterprises, Island Connections International, Telunas Resorts and more.
