Mark “Rusty” Sherwood specializes in building strategic thinking leaders and the means by which industry executives and their teams develop the essential competencies critical to enduring high-performance organizations. His vast industry experience informs his approach to building organizations and teams with sustainable market competitiveness and unique industry position.    

Rusty’s work with clients covers strategic thinking, forming high-performance teams, and shaping corporate cultures that inspire a balance of high-care & high-accountability. He also helps organizations build succession plans, deepen leadership bench strength and guide executives with the crafting of vision foundations that guide sustainable, high-performance organizations. Rusty currently leads FMI’s Team Leadership discipline. 

Rusty founded and currently chairs the AEC Business Builders Forum, a market insight consortium of senior business development executives from national and global architecture, construction and engineering firms.   

He has 37 years of industry experience leading national and global sales and business development teams, including 14 years as vice president of McGraw-Hill Construction. Prior to that, Rusty spent 15 years evolving and leading domestic and international business development and marketing strategy for numerous U.S. and foreign-based construction product manufacturers and wholesale distributors.
