FMI Advises Ergon on the Sale of its ErgonArmor and Sumter Coatings Lines of Business to SWT Group
SWT Group, a leader in asphalts and coatings, has acquired from Ergon Asphalt & Emulsions, Inc. (Ergon) the assets of Ergon’s ErgonArmor and Sumter Coatings lines of business, known for their expertise in engineered surface protection systems and specialized coatings. This acquisition is about combining strengths to be able to deliver even better products and reach more customers worldwide. FMI Capital Advisors served as the exclusive financial advisor to Ergon for this transaction.

Sumter Coatings will continue to operate under its own brand, while ErgonArmor will be rebranded as “Armor”. All three facilities — Kansas City, KS, Memphis, TN, and Sumter, SC — will continue to operate as in the past with all employees staying in place.
The deal closed on November 20, 2025.
