Leadership Institute

Leadership

For more than 30 years, FMI’s Leadership Institute (LI) has been the construction and engineering industry’s premier leadership development program. 10,000+ leaders across 1,000+ organizations have attended and returned to their firms with a deeper understanding of who they are as leaders and a sharper ability to drive results through others.

This immersive, cohort-based program gives senior construction leaders the insights, tools, and peer connections they need to reach their peak leadership potential. Through personal assessments, experiential team challenges, and facilitated peer discussions, you’ll discover how your leadership style affects the people around you and how to leverage it for maximum impact.

No. The Leadership Institute does not require a prerequisite program. It is designed for leaders who already have responsibility for people, teams, or business units. The key factor is not prior coursework, but whether participants are in a role where they can apply the leadership concepts immediately. Many participants attend LI without prior FMI experience.

The Leadership Institute is built specifically for the construction and engineering industry. The content, scenarios, and peer discussions reflect the realities of leading in project-based, high-risk, and operationally complex environments. Participants also learn alongside peers facing similar challenges, which creates a level of relevance and peer exchange that general leadership programs often lack.

The program fee includes all program materials, the FMI 360° Leadership Survey and Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) assessments, all meals from Monday lunch through Thursday lunch, and a certificate of completion.

Yes to both. FMI delivers customized versions of the Leadership Institute for individual firms, tailored to your organization's leadership challenges, cohort size, and development goals.
