FMI Capital Advisors Advises McClure Company on Majority Sale to Sojitz Corporation of America
FMI Capital Advisors is pleased to announce the sale of a majority interest of McClure Company (McClure) to Sojitz Corporation of America (SCA), a global trading company based out of New York, headquartered in Tokyo. FMI Capital Advisors served as the exclusive financial advisor to McClure for this transaction.
McClure is one of Pennsylvania’s largest energy services (ESCO) and mechanical contracting firms, with a long history of delivering mechanical infrastructure and energy systems for the built environment. Sojitz Corporation of America invests in global infrastructure, energy and sustainable businesses, and its U.S. target markets complement McClure’s core businesses in energy services, renewables and health care. This partnership is Sojitz’s first in the U.S. energy service field and will provide solutions to a variety of social issues, especially in the areas of health, energy efficiency and sustainability.
“This is a momentous time in the growth of McClure Company. Our 68-year reputation for performance and innovation in mechanical construction and energy services has attracted the attention of a highly respected global partner—Sojitz Corporation of America,” said Chip Brown, president of McClure. “Their 100-year legacy of investing in groundbreaking companies, supporting teams with their network, and creating new business value is in perfect alignment with McClure’s mission.”
McClure will continue operating as a private company under the new ownership agreement with no business changes from the employee or customer perspectives.
“FMI has been a trusted advisor to McClure for years and was the ideal investment bank to advise us through this transaction. Their expertise in the ESCO market and mechanical service companies proved invaluable throughout this process and led us to a great outcome with a valuable partner for the next stage of McClure’s future,” Brown added.
