James Holmes

Managing Director

James Holmes is head of FMI’s Chemicals investment banking group based in Denver, bringing clients considerable expertise in sell-side and buy-side mergers and acquisitions advisory services for middle-market specialty chemicals companies.  

His extensive experience spans multiple specialty chemical subsectors, including construction chemicals, adhesives and sealants, coatings, resins and additives, air and water treatment, naturally derived renewable chemistry and chemical distribution. 

Prior to joining FMI, James was with Houlihan Lokey, where he focused on structuring and executing M&A transactions for mid-market chemicals clients. Before Houlihan Lokey, James was a vice president with PrinceRidge, focusing on mid-market, full-service investment banking transactions for chemicals clients. He began his career with KeyBanc Capital Markets on the chemicals team. 

James earned a graduate certificate in Environmental Modeling from the Colorado School of Mines, which in addition to general chemistry prerequisites, covered quantitative approaches to sustainable chemistry, including earth resource management, life cycle analysis and chemical fate and transport in the environment.
